DICT Marks National ICT Month 2026 and 10th Anniversary

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is celebrating its 10th anniversary alongside National ICT Month 2026 under the theme “Isang Dekadang Digital: Konektado sa Puso at Serbisyo.”

The DICT kicked off the festivities on June 1 at UP Visayas by launching 2,020 new free Wi-Fi sites across Western Visayas, putting priority on public schools, hospitals, and transit hubs in far-flung communities.

To further drive digital inclusion, the department is deploying its Walang Iwanan Caravan: eGov Super App on Wheels to bring mobile government services directly to local populations.

Acting as the chief architect of the country’s digital landscape, the department has steadily worked to bridge the digital divide over the past ten years, by targeting critical areas such as expanding connectivity in isolated regions, strengthening cybersecurity, and introducing integrated e-governance platforms to eliminate long lines.

Moving into its second decade, the DICT remains focused on leveraging technology as the ultimate equalizer for nation-building to ensure no Filipino is left behind.
