Zero-Interest Loans Now Available for Filipino Inventors Under i-TECH 2.0

September 30, 2025

Filipino inventors and innovators can now access zero-percent interest financial support to help bring their patented technologies to market through the enhanced Innovation and Technology (i-TECH) Lending Program.

The Department of Science and Technology–Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI), in partnership with Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), relaunched the program on July 15, 2025, during the PhilippiNEXT 2025 exposition at Okada Manila.

With i-TECH 2.0, LANDBANK has removed the P12.5-million loan ceiling and will now fund up to 85% of project costs with no interest charges. The move aims to give Filipino innovators greater flexibility and support in commercializing their inventions.

The updated guidelines also streamline application processing by aligning technical and financial evaluations, making it easier for inventors to qualify. Eligible applicants include Filipino-owned corporations or partnerships with valid intellectual property rights such as patents, utility models, or industrial designs.
Since its launch in 2017, the i-TECH program has already supported several local inventors, and with these new enhancements, DOST-TAPI Director Atty. Marion Ivy D. Decena encourages more innovators to apply.

For us at 90 Degrees North Inc., this initiative aligns with our mission as a tech-driven company to champion innovation, provide access to cutting-edge solutions, and help create opportunities that strengthen the country’s technological ecosystem. Programs like i-TECH 2.0 create more opportunities for local talents, and we support the goal of turning innovative ideas into practical solutions that benefit industries and communities.
