September is Philippine Creative Industries Month

Every September, the country celebrates the Philippine Creative Industries Month. Aside from promoting and supporting the development of the nation’s creative industries, the PCIM also aims to protect and strengthen its rights and capacities.

This month-long event was made possible through Republic Act 11904, which lapsed into law on July 28, 2022.

Art is embedded in the Filipino community. It is indelible in the hearts of Pinoys, deep within its roots. Passed down from tribe-to-tribe, down to the families we love, ingrained in ourselves (believe it or not!).

From Apo Whang-Od, Ricky Lee, Fernando Amorsolo, Levi Celerio, Nora Aunor, and more, Filipino artistry is diverse, dynamic, and forever evolving.

With the celebration of the Philippine Creative Industries Month, it is a goal that the Filipino must recognize the importance of the art that lies deep inside our blood.
